On May 11, 1997, Garry Kasparov was defeated by an A.I. Supercomputer DeepBlue(Developed by IBM). It was a turning point in human history for the first time such a feat was achieved by a machine. Looking to that point in history and seeing the latest trends as AI becomes more advanced and prevalent in the workplace, it's natural to wonder what this will mean for the future of human employment. Will AI ultimately replace the need for human workers?
The short answer is no. While AI may be able to handle certain tasks more efficiently than humans, it's unlikely that it will fully replace the need for human employees. Instead, we will likely continue to work alongside AI, with the technology serving as a helpful tool that helps us do our jobs better.
One of the ways it can help us by
Teammate as an AI
One way we might work with AI in the future is by using it to help generate complex responses to queries. For example, a designer or engineer might ask an AI for information about how a certain problem has been solved in the past, or for suggestions on possible solutions to a current challenge. This would be like having a really smart colleague who knows all the history and can provide valuable insights and ideas.
AI could also be useful in helping us to quickly sift through large amounts of data, allowing us to focus on the most important information and make better-informed decisions. This could be particularly useful in fields like finance and healthcare, where data analysis is a crucial part of the job.
What will determine my Salary?
As the future of work gets more and more complicated AI will come as a handy tool not limited to computer programmers or digital image creators but touching nearly all professions and works. So, your salary will be determined by how well you work with an AI, and how well you interact with it. Today, our salaries are determined by How well we work with our teammates. In the future, your salaries will be determined by what ease of degree you can work with your colleagues and AI.
Will AI be Bias Free?
No, AI is not bias free because it has trained on data that is human-generated so eventually, it will be biased. We can reduce the biasness but cannot completely get rid of it. As such, it will be up to us as human employees to use our creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to come up with innovative solutions and drive progress.
We will also need to adapt as certain tasks are taken over by AI and as we discover new things that we want to do with the help of AI. This may involve learning new skills or transitioning to new roles within our organizations. It's important to remember that this process is ongoing and that we will need to continue to adapt and evolve as AI becomes more prevalent in the workplace.
I have created the above blog using an AI itself where I feed the youtube video's subtitles to chatGPT and ask it to generate insights. It was not all created by AI but it certainly helped me.
P.S. This is an awesome documentary film about AI vs Best Go player in world.
